SDG 14.1 is one part of the Sustainable Development Goals created by the UN; a sub-category of SDG 14, Life under water. This particular sub goal is in line with our mission with its target to reduce marine pollution.
Although the whole SDG 14 is an important goal, it is in our belief that reducing marine pollution of any form is a combined action and effort. We all play a part in achieving this goal.
And the best part? It's not too hard.
Understandably, oil spills and factory waste dumping in oceans may not be in our direct hands, basic actions of throwing plastic bottles and bags into the sea is. SDG 14.1 is made to prevent that. We know the ocean is large and by throwing away all our plastics in the bin for it to be later dumped in the ocean, we believe it's not much not is it our business. We all need to break out of this thinking and open our eyes to see the world out there is much bigger than we think. And at this rate, we are doing more bad to it than we can imagine. 80% of ocean pollution is just plastic. By 2025, SDG 14.1 aims to significantly reduce these high numbers.
